I worked with Hank Studios on ads promoting the launch of Canada’s earliest news show – CHCH TV’s Morning Live First Edition. The concept involved the show replacing the coffee maker in the affections of an early riser, and radio and TV spots were produced featuring various characters based around types of coffee makers.
We also supplied the station’s in-house creative team with a bunch of other ideas for them to develop – all based around the traumas involved in getting up very early. (I got up at the crack of dawn for a few days in the interests of research, much to the annoyance of my wife.)
I also wrote ad copy for print and outdoor, and came up with the show’s tagline to fit with the coffee concept – ”A fresh blend of news & views. Served every 15 minutes”.
The campaign was nominated for the 2012 PromaxBDA awards in the News/Information Program Promotions Campaign Using Integrated Media category.
